Geological Information
Thousand Layer Quartz, also known as Lodolite Quartz or Garden Quartz, is a variety of Quartz containing natural mineral inclusions trapped during crystal growth. These inclusions may consist of chlorite, feldspar, hematite, iron oxides, clay minerals, and other naturally occurring materials.
As the Quartz crystal formed, periods of growth were interrupted by the deposition of additional minerals before crystal growth resumed, creating the layered and landscape-like scenes visible within the stone.
