Geological Information

This remarkable specimen combines three minerals commonly found within hydrothermal mineral deposits.

Sphalerite, a zinc sulphide mineral and the primary ore of zinc, forms the dark metallic crystal matrix visible throughout the specimen. Intergrown amongst the Sphalerite are numerous Pyrite crystals, displaying their characteristic metallic golden lustre and well-defined crystal faces.

Quartz crystals developed alongside both minerals, adding brightness and contrast whilst creating additional texture and sparkle across the specimen's surface.

The combination of metallic gold Pyrite, dark lustrous Sphalerite and sparkling Quartz makes this an especially attractive and highly collectible mineral specimen.

  • Crystal Type: Sphalerite, Pyrite and Quartz
