Polychrome Jasper, also known as Desert Jasper, is a colourful variety of Jasper discovered in Madagascar. It is an opaque form of microcrystalline Quartz formed through volcanic activity and the gradual deposition of silica-rich materials over millions of years.

Its extraordinary colours are created by various mineral inclusions, particularly iron and other trace elements, resulting in the sweeping bands and landscape-like patterns that make each specimen unique.
