Scottish Botanical Amulet - Maple Spirit with Tiger's Eye
Part of the Scottish Botanical Amulet collection, this one-of-a-kind piece was created using a real maple leaf gathered in Scotland. Through the process of copper electroforming, the delicate leaf has been permanently preserved in copper, capturing every vein, contour, and natural detail. Handcrafted in my small studio in rural Scotland, this piece celebrates the enduring wisdom found in nature and the quiet strength that comes from walking your own path.
Suspended beneath a handwoven micromacramé bail and finished with a Tiger's Eye bead, the pendant hangs from a braided adjustable cord, allowing it to be worn at a variety of lengths. The warm copper tones and earthy design create a piece that feels both rustic and timeless.

Symbolism of the Maple Leaf
The maple leaf has long been associated with balance, endurance, and the changing cycles of life. Across many cultures it symbolises growth through experience, reminding us that wisdom is gathered season by season rather than all at once.
In British and European folklore, trees were often viewed as silent keepers of knowledge, standing watch over generations. The maple, with its ability to thrive through changing seasons, became a symbol of adaptability and resilience. Its leaves remind us that change is not something to resist but something to move through with grace and trust.
When creating this piece, I wanted it to represent the courage to follow your own path, even when the destination is not yet visible. Like a traveller moving through a woodland trail, we rarely see the entire journey ahead of us. Instead, we take one step at a time, guided by instinct, experience, and faith in our direction.
Spiritual & Symbolic Associations

- Confidence
- Courage
- Personal Power
- Determination
- Grounding
- Protection

- Resilience
Tiger's Eye has been valued throughout history as a stone of strength and protection. Ancient Roman soldiers are believed to have carried Tiger's Eye into battle as a symbol of courage and unwavering focus. Its golden bands, which seem to move and shimmer in the light, have long been associated with keen perception and the ability to see situations clearly.
Spiritually, Tiger's Eye is often connected with confidence, determination, and balanced decision-making. Many people are drawn to it when navigating periods of change, seeking motivation, or working towards important goals. Rather than encouraging impulsive action, it is often associated with steady progress, practical wisdom, and trusting one's own judgement.
Its warm golden-brown colours evoke the earth beneath our feet and the sunlight filtering through woodland canopies, making it a popular stone for those seeking both grounding and inspiration. Symbolically, Tiger's Eye is often seen as a reminder that courage does not always mean charging ahead fearlessly. Sometimes courage is simply continuing forward, one step at a time.
The combination of copper, maple leaf, and Tiger's Eye creates an amulet that celebrates quiet confidence, resilience, and the strength found in staying true to your own journey.
Chakra Association
Tiger's Eye is most commonly associated with the Solar Plexus Chakra and is symbolically linked with confidence, willpower, motivation, and personal strength. It is also often connected with grounding energy and practical action.
