Geological Information

Fluorite is a calcium fluoride mineral renowned for its beautiful colouration, transparency, and distinctive crystal formations. It commonly forms within hydrothermal veins and is often found alongside a variety of associated minerals, including Pyrite.

Pyrite developed within the mineral-rich environment as iron sulphide crystals, creating metallic golden inclusions and highlights throughout the specimen. The natural openings and cavities formed during the stone's geological development and later became lined with tiny crystal formations, creating the beautiful druzy pockets visible today.

This piece showcases several stages of mineral formation, combining polished surfaces, exposed raw crystal growth, natural cavities, and sparkling druzy features within a single specimen.

  • Primary Minerals: Fluorite and Pyrite
  • Associated Formation: Natural druzy crystal-lined cavities
  • Fluorite Composition: Calcium Fluoride (CaF₂)
  • Pyrite Composition: Iron Sulphide (FeS₂)
  • Crystal System: Isometric
  • Mohs Hardness: 4 (Fluorite), 6-6.5 (Pyrite)
