Obsidian Raw Stones
These beautiful Obsidian specimens showcase the raw, natural beauty of volcanic glass formed through the rapid cooling of molten lava. Their deep black colouring, smooth fractured surfaces, and natural textures reveal the powerful geological forces that created them.
Unlike crystalline minerals, Obsidian forms without a crystal structure, giving it its distinctive glass-like appearance and characteristic curved fracture patterns. Left in their natural raw form, these pieces preserve the rugged textures and shapes created by volcanic activity, making each specimen completely unique.
Please make sure you select the crystal you would like to receive. Each specimen is numbered in the photographs, with individual measurements listed below.

Symbolism of the Raw Stone
Raw stones are often seen as symbols of authenticity, resilience, and connection to the Earth. Unlike polished pieces, they retain the textures and forms created by natural geological processes, offering a glimpse into the remarkable forces that shaped them.
Many people are drawn to raw stones because they remind us that strength and beauty can emerge through powerful periods of transformation. Their untouched appearance reflects the value of embracing our true nature and recognising the wisdom gained through experience.
Raw stones can also symbolise grounding, honesty, and the courage to face life with clarity and authenticity.

Geological Information
Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass formed when silica-rich lava cools extremely rapidly, preventing crystals from developing. Because it lacks a crystalline structure, Obsidian breaks with distinctive curved fractures known as conchoidal fractures, often producing sharp edges.
Throughout history, Obsidian has been used for tools, ceremonial objects, jewellery, and decorative carvings due to its durability and striking appearance.
